Still focusing mainly on cross training but got in a nice easy run today. Temps have nicely cooled off lately and when I ran it was only about 85 degrees.
It feels so good to get back out there running again. I find it hard to keep motivated for the cross training and can't stop thinking about when my next run will be. I am going to increase my mileage and days running slowly (adding only one additional day a week) but this means less and less time in the gym and more out on the road.
As my cross training fitness has increased, I've noticed that my running fitness has definitely suffered a bit. I think I will be able to get it back quickly, though. Have to remember, though, to rein myself in a little and let my body get used to the running stress again before I focus on any training. |
